1957 Hermes Rocket Typewriter
SOLD
I want to talk about the recent 1957 Hermes Rocket typewriter we have acquired. It is a compact typewriter that could easily be taken with you to the coffee shop, on a trip, etc. It is a smooth typer and would suit any level of typist. It is a snappy typer but it does not require being a strong person to press the keys. Now some of you will know what I mean about this! The Hermes typewriters are quality.
The typewriter was made in Switzerland in 1957, we used the serial number to determine the age. We love the green of the body and almost glow in the dark green key tops. They don’t actually glow, just that color of green. It has 10 characters per inch making it pica size of type. There is very small wear on the body. It is in great condition. Overall a wonderful addition to any typewriter collection.
I know I have said it before, but I am very impressed with the quality of Hermes typewriters made in Switzerland. Each one that we have had and sold have been remarkable. When I tried one for the very first time, I was struck how the feel of typing on it was different than other typewriters. The feel of a typewriter is very subjective but there was definitely a difference.
We urge you to come in and try it as it won’t last long.
